April is National Teach Children to Save Month. To celebrate, Security Savings Bank employees took time to talk to the 3rd Grade students at the Farnhamville, Dayton, and Manson Elementary Schools, and the 3rd and 4th grade class at Stratford Elementary. The students were a great audience and to help them with their savings journey each child received a gold dollar!

Justin Widlund, Loan Officer at our Manson branch, recently attended Manson's annual FFA awards program to present Iowa FFA Degree Awards. Each recipient received a $250 scholarship and plaque. FFA members achieving their Iowa Degree include Madison Becker and Keegan Reis. Congratulations!

To celebrate, the team at Security Savings Bank will be visiting local schools to talk with students about the importance of saving and making wise financial choices.

Talking with your kids about financial literacy—like budgeting, saving, and understanding the value of money—helps reinforce what they learn and builds lifelong skills. Starting these discussions early can boost confidence, encourage responsible decision-making, and set children up for long-term success.
