Who remembers Tecumseh spring? Or the name Rebman park? I vaguely remember going to this spring as a little kid and seeing people filling up jugs of water to take home.

Drove by my childhood home today out on Sullivan Road

It’s falling down now, but it reminds me where it all started. A small house in a small town that taught me about doing the best you can with what you have.

Today I’m grateful to help families in this same community plan for their futures.

Funny how where you start can shape where you end up.

ā€œBjork’s caveā€ was a huge part of my childhood and I’m sure it’s flowing good today. Sitting here at my desk watching the market today reminded me of that waterfall:
•Periods of calm can quickly turn into sharp drops or surges.
•Flows change direction without much warning.
•And even the most dramatic plunge eventually finds a steady path forward.

A waterfall doesn’t stop when it hits the edge—it keeps moving, reshaping, and finding new channels.
Volatility can feel the same way. It’s not the end of the flow…it’s part of it.
Days like this are a reminder that while we can’t control the drop, we can stay focused, stay steady, and help navigate the currents with purpose.

šŸ“ˆ Simple Investment Themes During the Iran‑Driven Market Volatility:
1ļøāƒ£ Energy Stocks
Oil prices have surged due to concerns over disruptions in the Strait of Hormuz, boosting the outlook for oil producers and energy companies.
2ļøāƒ£ Defense & Security Sectors
Geopolitical conflict is pushing investors toward defense‑related industries as global tensions rise.
3ļøāƒ£ Long‑Term Rebound Areas
Travel, airline, and tech stocks have pulled back due to oil‑price and inflation fears. These sectors often recover once tensions ease and fuel costs settle

History shows that markets usually react to war with short-term volatility, not long-term collapse.

A few examples:
• During the Gulf War (1990) the S&P 500 dropped about 10% initially but was ~20% higher a year later.
• After the Iraq War began in 2003, the market again dipped early but gained around 20% within the next year.
• Since World War II, stocks have delivered positive returns one year after geopolitical conflicts about 73% of the time.

Right now the headlines around Iran are creating uncertainty, which markets don’t like. But historically, once the initial shock passes, the market tends to refocus on the economy, earnings, and long-term growth.

Perspective matters when the news cycle gets loud.
