Phone Scams
-Law enforcement will not call you to tell you they have a warrant for your arrest, and to pay a fine over the phone to take care of it.
The FBI and The ATF will not call you to discuss an issue.
-Banks will not call you to verify your account.
-Government agencies (Social Security, IRS, Medicare) will not call you to verify your accounts.
-If you received a call that a loved one is in jail in another country. Hang up and call that family member first.
-If any business calls you and requests you wire money to them, purchase a prepaid money card or western union them money, hang up!
- If you are uncertain about a call, hang up. Then use Google to search for a number for the company. Do not call them back at the number they called you from.

Make sure you are checking up on your elderly friends and family. They are especially vulnerable to this scam. Many have been scammed and may be too embarrassed to report it.
If you have been a victim a scam and have not reported it, please call and report this to your local law enforcement agency.
