Have you lost your debit card? Follow these simple steps to disable your card through the MCBank App.

1.Open the App: Log in to your MCBank mobile account.
2.Select 'Cards': Tap the Cards icon located at the bottom of the screen.
3.Choose Your Card: Locate the specific card that has been lost or stolen.
4.Toggle Off: Simply switch the status to OFF to instantly disable the card.

Visit your nearest branch in Early, Goldthwaite, Hamilton or Hico for further assistance.

Teresa Salazar joined MCBank in June 2022, starting out as Teller and advancing to Teller Supervisor. As a bilingual team member, she takes pride in supporting a diverse community while helping customers stay informed and protected from fraud. She has enjoyed giving back to the community by volunteering at the Senior Center & helping with the Goldthwaite Park Christmas lights. Teresa enjoys her role at the bank and takes pride in serving our customers each day. One of the things she values most is the strong team and family-oriented atmosphere that makes our workplace so special. She truly appreciates being part of an organization that supports and works together towards a common goal. Outside of work, Teresa values family above all else. She enjoys spending quality time with her three children and three granddaughters, creating meaningful moments and maintaining strong family connections. She also loves to read and is a very active Jeanie Trent library patron.

Create complex, unique passwords for each account and consider using a trusted password manager to securely store and manage them, making it easier to stay protected online. Never reuse passwords. If a scammer gets your password for a social media account, the first thing they will do is try that same password on your banking and email accounts.

• Set Travel Notifications: Inform MCBank of travel dates and locations before leaving.
• Set your own travel alerts through your MCBank app. Click my card in the app, then click manage travel plans, followed by add travel plans and complete the steps.
• Keep contact information updated to insure MCBank can notify you if needed.

Contrary to the myth that "wireless" means less secure, contactless cards utilize multiple layers of protection:

• Tokenization: Instead of sharing your actual card number with the merchant, the card generates a one-time encrypted code (token) for each transaction. Even if intercepted, this data is useless for future purchases.
• Anti-Skimming: Because the card never leaves your hand or enters a reader, the risk of "skimming" (where fraudsters use devices to clone the magnetic stripe) is virtually eliminated.

• Slow Down: If a message or caller says you must act "now," that is your biggest red flag.
• Verify Independently: Hang up and call the company or person back using a number you know is legitimate (like the one on the back of your debit card or an official website).
• Question the Payment Method: Scammers love untraceable, instant payments like wire transfers, cryptocurrency, or gift cards. No legitimate business or agency will demand payment via a digital gift card.
