Director of Corporate Engagement & Communications

Position Summary
United Way of Wayne County is seeking a dynamic, relationship-driven leader to serve as our Director of Corporate Engagement & Communications. This position plays a critical role in advancing our mission as we transition to an Issue Focus model centered on poverty while continuing to lead a strong annual campaign.
This individual will manage corporate partnerships, lead marketing and communications efforts, and elevate the United Way brand through compelling storytelling, especially highlighting the impact of our UCAN (United Community Assistance Network) program.

Key Responsibilities
Corporate Engagement & Partnerships
β’ Build and manage relationships with corporate partners and workplace campaigns
β’ Grow campaign revenue through strategic engagement and year-round stewardship
β’ Identify and cultivate new business partnerships
β’ Support the Executive Director in major donor and investor engagement
Marketing, Communications & Brand Management
β’ Lead all marketing and communications efforts, ensuring brand consistency
β’ Manage social media, website content, and digital presence
β’ Develop graphics, campaign materials, and promotional content
β’ Execute a strategic content calendar aligned with campaigns and community impact
Storytelling & Community Impact
β’ Capture and share powerful stories that demonstrate real community impact
β’ Translate United Wayβs workβespecially UCANβinto clear, compelling messaging
β’ Develop content for campaigns, donor communications, and public engagement
Campaign Strategy & Ex*****on
β’ Design engaging, innovative workplace campaign tools and materials
β’ Equip corporate partners with resources to run successful campaigns
β’ Integrate storytelling and impact into all campaign efforts
Leadership Support
β’ Partner with the Executive Director on messaging, presentations, and communications
β’ Ensure consistent, clear external messaging aligned with organizational strategy

Qualifications & Position Details
β’ Bachelorβs degree or equivalent experience in marketing, communications, nonprofit management, or related field
β’ 3β5+ years of experience in marketing, communications, fundraising, or corporate engagement
β’ Strong relationship-building and interpersonal skills
β’ Experience managing social media, branding, and content creation
β’ Graphic design experience (Canva, Adobe, or similar tools) preferred
β’ Excellent written and verbal communication skills
β’ Passion for community impact and addressing poverty
β’ Position details: 28-30 hours per week. Hourly compensation is flexible and aligned with experience, skills and overall fit for the role.
