Heading into Christmas this week I reflect on a few things that occurred this year.

☝🏿I’m thankful for the victories and challenges I’ve experienced. Both fortify my character.

✌🏿I’ve gained and lost this year, but my eyes are fixed on the long-term.

👌🏿I’m excited in seeing the man I’m becoming and the community I serve. There’s much area for growth, but I’m thankful to God who will finish the work He begun in me.

I never thought I would be where I'm at today with these opportunities to serve and give back according to my generosity. Sharing my story felt empowering, affirming, and encouraging. Thank you to the Mentors, Professors, and Teachers in my life who have inspired me.

I will continue to be faithful. I can be used for so much more.

I was invited by a friend to celebrate and become a sponsor of the 5th year anniversary of her Real Estate business.
5 years is long time of continued success, and continued success is something entrepreneurs strive for. It's a testament to endurance.
If there's a word that I've come to value recently it's: LONGETIVITY. Some of the best things are the ones that last, whether it be in relationships, business, vision, and definitely faith.

About a month ago I had the privilege of participating in our Somos Thrivent Forum hosted in our corporate center in Minneapolis. It was the best event by far that I've experienced at Thrivent. It was a joy to connect with other Advisors around the U.S and to learn from the experience of my peers in the Latino community.

My parents immigrated from South America long before I was born, but it was always part of my mission to serve my brothers and sisters of the Latino community. I'm proud that Thrivent is championing this ethnic diverse people group as not only are they neighbors geographically, but personally.

Every person needs to ask themselves this one question…

“Why does the work I do matter?”

Although being young is a barrier for people to trust me in my profession, the work I do still is valuable and has impact. As someone who desires to be philanthropic and practices it in very small ways, I've seen how finances change lives.
It can break relationships. It can be the breakthrough from living paycheck to paycheck. It has tremendous influence in politics.
It can be used to encourage, but it can also discourage.
We spend roughly a third or more of our lives exchanging our time for money. This exchange is often unequal:
Money can be replenished — time can't.

My job is simply helping people to maximize money and make the most of time in the unequal exchange between the two.

"Tian - I've never worked with a Financial Advisor before, what should I expect?"

While I can't advocate for every Financial Advisor here are some qualities of what I think you should expect from a great advisor💁🏿:

1️⃣They operate with integrity: They're realistic and don't make extraordinary promises on portfolio returns.
2️⃣They are well educated in the realm of finance
3️⃣They show interest in their clients by asking great questions
4️⃣They don't just manage assets, but people and their emotions towards the market or their own finances
5️⃣They care and don't just go through the motions

"Could the fear of missing out (FOMO) be undermining your long-term savings goals?"

Not only is FOMO linked to overconsumption, but it also encourages herd behavior. The stronger your FOMO, the higher your risk of impulse purchases. What many people don’t realize? You could be spending beyond your means, and without a budget, you might only notice this financial leak when it’s too late.
FOMO might be sabotaging you through:
1️⃣ Accumulating debt to buy the "latest" Jordan release or that customized car
2️⃣ Missing savings goals monthly or annually
3️⃣ Financial anxiety and regret from overspending

Don’t let FOMO keep derailing your financial future. YOU’VE got this. Keep pushing forward—and your future self might thank you for starting now.

✍🏿p.s. I have nothing against Jordans or nice cars
