Get to know our August Employee Spotlight, Melissa Kleinhuizen! ✨

⭐ Where do you work and what is your role? Morning Sun Financial Services as the Payroll Director.

⭐ How long have you been with the company? 2 months

⭐ What is a typical day like for you? Typically, I am learning the specific payroll processes for each Morning Sun company. I have also had the opportunity to work on the setup and implementation of newly acquired contracts. It is exciting to be able to be part of the important work of supporting participants and their staff.

⭐ What motivates you to get up and go to work? I have worked in human services for 20 years. I love having the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of others. While my current role is not actively supporting individuals in the field, I want to make sure that the staff who are doing important day-to-day work are paid correctly and quickly.

⭐ How has your career grown since starting with the company? I have had the opportunity to learn about services and payroll law in multiple states and expand my knowledge of new systems. Previously, the scope of my experience was only in MN.

⭐ What do you like to do when you are not working? I really enjoy reading, gardening, traveling, camping, and spending time with my family.

⭐ What do you like the most about your job? I love learning new things; whether it is the multi-state services we provide and support, specific tasks for payroll, or about my team.

⭐ What is something people do not know about you? Hmmmmm, I have a quirky sense of humor, and I’ve gone skydiving and loved it!

⭐ What are three words that describe you best? Thoughtful, curious, and adventurous.

⭐ What is one thing you can’t live without? Family

⭐ What is something on your bucket list you hope to do someday? Travel to islands in the South Pacific.

⭐ What is your all-time favorite food? Spaghetti

⭐ Where is your favorite place in the world? Aruba
