The Wall Street Journal with this story released about 30 minutes ago. As the title says, the crypto contagion is spreading.

BlockFi, financially entangled with the now-bankrupt FTX, is planning to lay off workers and exploring a bankruptcy filing itself, people familiar say.

Remember when all of those celebrities were touting cryptocurrencies and crypto exchanges like FTX at the end of 2021...ooops. The media and celebrities are the last place one should look for investment ideas. The world is littered with celebs buying at the top.
Words of wisdom to always remember from Mike Lewitt of The Credit Strategist:
"The media is the last place anybody should go for investment advice or to form opinions about other people. And people who spend a lot of time promoting themselves or who let themselves be promoted by the media are diverting precious time from focusing on business.
Invest in people who focus on business, on delivering real value for shareholders. It is not important what other people think of you - that's on them. What's important is what you accomplish. Let your accomplishments speak for themselves. There are too many empty wagons out there. Don't get run over by one as an investor."

Armed with almost 400 PhDs, one year ago the Fed said this:

1. Rates will remain lower for longer

2. Unlikely to raise rates until 2024

3. We believe a recession is unlikely

4. Inflation is transitory and not a problem

5. Inflation should fall to 2% in 2022

The lesson: take forecasts with a grain of salt, especially from those whose careers have been spent primarily in government or in academia.

Lots of new rules in Secure Act 2.0, passed by the House last night. This is another major change to retirement planning.

The House overwhelmingly voted to pass the Securing a Strong Retirement Act, dubbed "SECURE Act 2.0." Among its many provisions, the legislation requires employers that sponsor plans to automatically enroll new employees, once they're eligible.

Will be responsible for completing and processing paperwork for new accounts in addition to general office duties; answering and directing calls, providing general clerical support to the financial advisor and to the office manager.

Candidates applying need the following:
Proficient in MS Office , especially Word, Outlook and Excel
Familiar with CRMs, experience with Redtail CRM is a plus
Financial services industry experience and knowledge preferred
Must be able to multi-task and organize
Must have excellent communication skills, both oral and written.

Salary will be commensurate with experience
