Phone rang at 6 am. We were both asleep. A very upset man started talking quickly about the damage to his home.

I'm not his broker but a friend had told him to talk to me. He was very upset. Lots of damage. You could hear the fear in his voice - water everywhere. He was sorry for waking us up. He described the losses. His hands were trembling and he dropped the phone. There was a sense of panic in his words.

We are his agency so F found his policy. This isn't going to end well. He has very little or no coverage for what he was talking about. He knows it ... he found the least expensive coverage he could get. He has very little mold coverage. He refused flood insurance. He didn't want to buy too much. He was practically in tears.

I have NEVER had a call like that from one of my clients. My clients breath a sigh of relief when they call me. I make sure you have the correct and adequate coverage. I'm sure glad I'm not that guy's agent.
