Were you involved in an accident? Was it your fault?
Your first call should be to the authorities.
Your second call should be to your loved ones.
Your third call should be to your insurance agent. (If you don’t have an agent, get one!)
Avoid calling the claims department directly. They will open a claim that stays on your record—even if the other party is found at fault. Disputing it later is a hassle you can easily avoid.
