What Is the Earned Equity Program?
This is an Earned Equity Program designed to help homebuyers who cannot qualify for a traditional mortgage today move into a home while building equity and preparing for ownership.
A HUD-approved government agency purchases the property on behalf of the homebuyer and facilitates a long-term lease structure while the borrower works toward being able to qualify to assume the underlying FHA loan. The end result is a standard FHA loan.
This is not a lease-to-own structure. It is an earned equity program that allows buyers to earn equity while leasing and preparing for homeownership. The monthly payment is not an inflated lease payment — it is a structured mortgage payment with a small property management fee.
The FHA-backed Earned Equity Program helps homebuyers who don't yet qualify for a traditional mortgage move into a home and build equity while working toward a standard FHA loan. Chad Jenkins, Loan Originator at Barrett Financial Group, NMLS #196990.
