Arizona Farm Bureau President John Boelts greets Secretary Rollins during yesterday's valuable Roundtable with Congressman Juan Ciscomani, U.S. Department of Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins, and SBA Administrator Kelly Loeffler. To President Boelts' immediate right, Arizona Cotton Growers' President Cassy England was also part of the roundtable sharing insights on Arizona agriculture's current challenges and concerns. Marana farmer and Mayor Jon Post is to President Boelts' left, and Pima County Farm Bureau President and Rancher Sarah King was to the far right of Boelts. The Roundtable was seated with an illustrious and great group of farmers, ranchers, and dairy farmers. The secretary herself took notes, asked for emails from the group and even summed up the roundtable by reviewing everything our producers told her. Arizona's agriculture is significant for several reasons:

1. Crop diversity: Arizona's unique climate allows for a wide range of crops to be grown, including cotton, lettuce, melons, leafy greens and citrus fruits.

2. Year-round production: The state's mild winters enable year-round production of certain crops, making it an important contributor to the nation's food supply.

3. Water management: Arizona's farmers have developed innovative irrigation systems, allowing them to conserve and reduce water while maintaining productive agricultural land.

4. Economic impact: Agriculture is a significant contributor to Arizona's economy, generating billions of dollars in revenue each year and supporting thousands of jobs.

5. Food security: By growing a diverse range of crops, Arizona's agriculture helps ensure the country's food security, reducing reliance on imports and supporting local communities.

These factors combined make Arizona's agriculture a vital part of the country's agricultural sector.

Alfalfa may not end up directly on your dinner plate, but it plays a major role in feeding dairy cows that produce milk, cheese, yogurt, and other foods found in homes across Arizona. That’s the connection between commercial agriculture and local food systems. Proudly Arizona. From Gate to Plate.

This Memorial Day, we honor and remember the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country.

Their sacrifice helped protect the freedoms we cherish, including the ability to grow, ranch, gather, and build strong communities across America.

Today, we remember those who served and sacrificed for our nation. 🇺🇸
