🚗 Not at fault? You may have options.

If another driver clearly caused an accident, you can consider filing your vehicle-damage claim with their insurance company first. If they accept responsibility and have sufficient coverage, you may avoid paying your own collision deductible and putting a claim in your policy.

However, even when fault appears obvious, the other carrier must complete its investigation—and delays or disagreements can happen.

If you run into problems, your State Farm policy may provide another path, depending on your coverage. A deductible may apply, and State Farm may then pursue the responsible party’s insurer for reimbursement, including possible recovery of some or all of your deductible.
