Why did I join the veterans division of AO Globe?

Over 1,700 Veterans pass away daily. This leaves little to no Veteran government benefits for funerals or cremations.
Here are three facts regarding your burial benefits.

NUMBER ONE: You can no longer reserve space in a VA national cemetery ahead of time. You’re still able to pre-register, so you can get the paperwork done, but it does not guarantee you a spot.

NUMBER TWO: If you do get into the national cemetery – what it includes is the assigned gravesite, if that space is available, the opening and closing of the grave, and the headstone or marker.
The easiest way to look at this is that your family pays for everything that happens before you reach the cemetery gate (ex: the casket, funeral services, transportation costs, cremation costs, etc.).
Everything after the cemetery gates is what would be covered for you by the VA.

NUMBER THREE: The VA DOES NOT cover the funeral or cremation arrangements of honorably discharged Veterans. If you decide to go to a private cemetery your family can file for reimbursement for the following:
• Up to $441 towards a headstone or marker
• Up to $1,002 towards a plot AND $978 towards a burial allowance
Up to $2,000 if it was a service-related death

However, in most cases Veterans just receive the $441 for their headstone allowance, and Caskets or Urns must be covered by the family.
