Sometimes the strongest thing an athlete can do… is pause.

Over the last few weeks, Amira and Janu came to me wanting to take a break from All-Star Cheer. After a lot of long conversations, tears, pros and cons lists and honestly… me asking them “are you sure?” about 101 times… we decided that a season off is what’s best for their little bodies, our mental health and this season of life.

These girls are incredibly strong, driven, disciplined athletes, and I’m so proud that they felt safe enough to come to me and thoughtfully explain their decision… not mine. That alone tells me we’re doing something right.

Tech Cheer became something really special for our family. Both girls made Lady Lasso and we finally got to watch them thrive together on a team surrounded by strong, dedicated athletes who pushed each other to grow.

Even after Amira’s elbow injury and recovery, she stepped right back in, and Lady Lasso went on an unbelievable run…
winning every single competition with her back on the mat. Jacket after jacket, ring after ring. NCA Champions and Summit silver in 2025… memories we’ll never forget.

This final season was one of the hardest with two kids on two different teams, long nights, endless schedules and trying to balance it all. But the girls pushed through because they genuinely love this sport. And despite the challenges, both Lady Lasso and LoneStar Ladies became 2026 NCA Champions and Lonestar ended with bronze at summit.

Back-to-back NCA Champions is something nobody can ever take away from these girls and I’m incredibly proud of their resilience, discipline, friendships, and growth through it all.

And now… I’m looking forward to slower weekdays, family dinners, movie nights, hiking trails, visiting family, random concert surprises, and simply saying “yes” to life a little more often.

To our Tech Cheer family; thank you for the memories, friendships, coaches, and love you poured into our girls. We are so grateful.

And to all of our friends trying out this week… best of luck. We’ll be cheering you on from the sidelines. ❤️📣

Day 1 ✔️ and it was a GOOD one ❤️📣

Both teams came out strong, hit zero and set the tone early. With a 6:45AM call time and our last performance at 5:40PM, it was a full day but we made the most of it, cheering on so many incredible teams along the way

And the best part… BOTH teams are sitting in 🥇 first place in their divisions.

Proud is an understatement. Now we reset, refocus, and get ready for Day 2. Let’s finish strong.

Lady Lasso takes on Cheercation at Kalahari in Round Rock, this is their FINAL competition before heading to Summit at the ESPN Wide World of Sports in Disney 🏆

And let me tell you… Lil J is built different.
She NEVER lets her flyers down. Ever.
The discipline, the consistency, the mindset… it shows every single time she steps on the mat.

What I love most? She’s not just showing up for herself; she’s elevating everyone around her. Coaching her little sister, pushing her to be better, holding her to a high standard… that’s leadership. That’s legacy.
