Effective immediately, the City of Liberty Hill is returning to Phase 2 water restrictions. The Brushy Creek Regional Utility Authority (BCRUA) contractor completed repair of the 36-inch underwater raw water pipeline in Lake Travis.

Phase 2 allows for once-a-week irrigation between 7:00 p.m. and 10:00 a.m. on designated watering days determined by customer street addresses. Hand-held watering is allowed at any time.

The city will resume water connections for construction activities, new water meter installations, approval of permits, and irrigation of City parks and facilities.

Wetzel Park splash pad will remain closed for the season.

Highland Oaks & Butler Farms subdivisions will remain on a boil water notice while the system properly flushes.

** ADVISORY **

Tomorrow, September 1st, is the start of dove hunting season in our area. Typically, this brings an increase in our response to shots fired calls. Listed below are some things to keep in mind regarding dove season:

1) During the season, hunters may hunt from one-half hour before sunrise to sunset.

2) Discharge of fi****ms is generally prohibited within the city limits.

3) An exception exists for tracts of land in the ETJ or the city that are 10 acres or more as long as the shooting is more than 150 feet from a residence or an occupied building located on another property. The shooting must also be done in a manner not reasonably expected to cause a projectile to cross the boundary of the tract.

4) The Georgetown Police Department will continue to respond to all shots fired calls.

5) The purpose of this post is to provide awareness and possibly reduce the concern that the sound of a shotgun in a potential dove hunting area might create.

Phase 2 allows for one-day-a-week watering from an irrigation system. Hand-held watering is still allowed at any time.

Wetzel Park and subdivision splash pads and pools will remain open. Stay tuned for more detailed information.
