I live in Georgetown and office out of Round Rock. My primary source of business is in Round Rock and Georgetown and it is a fun time every day. For those of you who are new to the area, it is best to learn this first hand as it is hard to explain the uniqueness that is Central Texas. For those of you who know me personally, you know I never back down from a challenge and moving here was a huge le
ap of faith for me and my family. I was born and raised in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. I was raised as an LSU tiger, I graduated from LSU and I married an LSU tiger. So when my wife finished her MBA, I expected to stay in Louisiana. My father-in-law is still one of the greatest men I have ever met and when he got sick it made everybody around him sick (of the heart). My father-in-law's dieing wish was that we live in Texas. So when my wife was offered a job at the Chamber of Commerce in Geogetown, we honored him in his last request. Little did I know that I would fall in love with this place. There is a saying here that holds true for me, "I wasn't born in Texas, but I got here as fast as I could." This place is so beautiful that I started running just to be outside and see more of its beauty. I don't run as much as I did when I first moved here as I'm a lot busier now but I still hoof it every free chance that I get. Austin, Round Rock, Georgetown, Leander, and, Pflugerville and Cedar Park all have such beautiful parks and trails that I still have yet to run them all but someday, I will. If you like rugged terrain, there is Emma Long Metropolitan Park and Lake Georgetown; and if you like something a little tamer, there is Walnut Creek, Brushy Creek, Williamson County Regional Parks to name a few. If you are more of a sports fan, Round Rock is the sports capital of Texas. We have The Dell Diamond, home of the Round Rock Express baseball team, Stony Point High school ranks annually as one of the top 100 football teams in the country, there are too many running clubs to name on one page, we have minor league hockey, cheerleading, lacross, soccer, tennis, golf, you name it, we probably have some form of it (even if it requires ice). Round Rock is home to the best public golf course in Central Texas in Forest Creek subdivision. Want to hone your skills on other courses? How about in Terravista, Avery Ranch, Star Ranch, Cimarron Hills, Berry Creek, one of Sun City's 3 courses, the Fairways at Crystal Falls, Black Hawk, Georgetown Country Club, Balcones Country Club, White Wing Golf Club, or Mustang Creek Golf Club. That's 15 courses within about a 15 mile radius. This is a golfer's paradise. Have I not convinced you to live here yet? Why is everybody moving to the area? Jobs...
