For about 30 years, my family owned a building right across the street from the Mount Carmel Centre. I actually grew up playing on the front steps of that beautiful church, exploring the inside, and experiencing the magic of this Ga***rd gem as a young kid. ⛪️✨

Having that kind of personal history with our local landmarks is exactly why I am so incredibly proud to serve on the board of the Otsego County Community Foundation (OCF).

We do so much meaningful philanthropic work right here in our own backyard, and it is an honor to be part of an organization that our community truly trusts to make a lasting impact.

Today, I’m thrilled to share that a dedicated group of supporters has officially established the Mount Carmel Center Fund through the OCF!

This 126-year-old historic landmark serves as a vibrant community hub for arts, culture, and connection. This newly created designated fund ensures that the building is properly restored, maintained, and preserved so future generations can experience it just like I did growing up.

There are countless ways to help sustain this treasured piece of Ga***rd history—whether through a donation to the fund, volunteering your time, or helping out with community events.

Today I’m doing a final walkthrough for my buyer before they officially purchase their new home here in Northern Michigan.

A lot of people don’t realize this, but a final walkthrough is your last chance to make sure:

✔️ the home is in the same condition as when you offered
✔️ repairs were completed properly
✔️ nothing unexpected happened before closing
✔️ the property is truly ready for possession

Even though my buyers couldn’t make it today, it’s my responsibility as their agent to be here and protect them from start to finish.
