Contractors’ general liability covers claims from customers or others alleging bodily injury, property damage, or personal injury caused by your work, operations, or completed projects.
Example: A contractor is installing a new roof when a ladder falls and damages the homeowner’s vehicle. The homeowner sues the contractor for the property damage. General liability insurance can help cover the contractor’s legal defense and, if the contractor is found liable, the resulting covered damages—subject to the policy’s terms, conditions, and exclusions.
