Our fourth annual Easter Basket Drive kicks off tomorrow, Thursday, February 12th! We are excited to once again partner with Communities in Schools and the Braxton Community Coalition to build Easter baskets for children ages 3-18 in Braxton County Schools. We will be accepting donations until March 23rd at our branch as well as our City National Bank Sutton and City National Bank Flatwoods branches. Help us celebrate Easter by donating pre-made baskets or items to add to the baskets like:

As I am sure y’all have noticed, it’s happened again. The sky has furiously been dumping snow all day and as much fun as a team building weekend sleepover might sound, we have all officially skedaddled. Once we’ve all gotten safely to our houses we’ll pile up under our heated blankets and answer calls, texts & emails as fast as possible. Stay safe, stay warm, and we’ll hopefully see you when the world stops being a skating rink! ⛸️🥶🧊

Our hearts are so heavy after learning of the passing of our dear friend Dixie. 💔 Her cafe and her cooking always made you feel like you were home. Whether you were a regular or a first time visitor, she treated you like family. She was a true pillar of our little town. She was also a tireless supporter of our office and loved to see the "State Farm girls" coming. She was especially fond of Dakota and they had a wonderful friendship. She and her husband Teddy knew my and Dakota's dad when they were younger, and she loved to tell us stories. I remember one day she'd made a coconut pie and we mentioned how much we loved it, and how it was our Dad's favorite. The next time Dakota went by the cafe she said "I made an extra coconut pie, you make sure your dad gets this!" and sent her home with an armful of pie and cookies. She was always so kind and generous. Our town will feel a lot emptier without her smile, but her legacy of warmth remains in every meal she cooked and every life she touched.
To a woman who supported other small businesses, championed for our town, cared for every neighbor, and treated every customer like kin-- thank you. Gassaway is better because you were in it. 🕊️✨

Rest in peace, Dixie. You will be deeply missed ☕️🤍

🙋🏼‍♀️🙋🏼‍♀️🙋🏼‍♀️😭 Due to this crazy weather, we're planning to open at 11am in the morning (2/4/26) if a couple of us can make it to the office without ending up in a snowbank. If not, we'll be available by phone as always at 304-364-8600.
Y'all, these roads are SLICK. Please be super careful if you venture out. Crystal had to park at a family member's house and walk home today because of accidents blocking the road. Sierra finally made it out today after being buried in the snow for six days and is probably snowed in again now. I need snow boots, a side-by-side, and a Jeep just to barely slide off this mountain 🤪 The rest of the girls are basically ice-skating into the parking lot on a wing and a prayer. We're doing our best, but these are some trying times. 😅

Hey everyone! We have another quick (and slippery) update for you—
Jess’s husband volunteered as tribute and spent the last two days battling the ice in our parking lot. We brought out the plow, the shovels, the salt... all to no avail.
Right now, our parking lot is basically a professional-grade ice skating rink 🥶🧊😭
If you’re planning to visit us over the next week or so, please keep these tips in mind:
🐧Channel your inner penguin. Short steps, flat feet, no sudden movements
🚗Park where it looks safest. Take your time getting out of the car
📞If you don't feel like testing your balance, stay in your warm car! Just give us a call at 304-364-8600 when you pull up and we’ll brave the tundra to come to you 🤗
