You can buy USDT with Google Pay in seconds… but one wrong tap (ERC20 vs TRC20) can turn a “quick buy” into higher fees, slow confirmations, or a deposit that never shows up.
Here’s the simplest cheat sheet before you hit Confirm:
✅ Pick TRC20 if you want:
Low fees for frequent transfers
Fast, predictable sending
A clean “move USDT often” routine (friends, family, remittance, payments)
✅ Pick ERC20 if you want:
Maximum compatibility across exchanges and wallets
Strong DeFi access and liquidity
Larger buys where a higher network fee is less painful
My 30-second rule (save this):
Check where you’re sending the USDT next (exchange or wallet)
Match the network exactly (USDT-TRC20 to TRC20 address, USDT-ERC20 to ERC20 address)
Do a small test transfer first, then scale up
Question for you: Which one do you use most right now, TRC20 or ERC20? Comment “TRC20” or “ERC20” and I’ll share the safest setup pattern I’ve seen for that option.
