I want to share an important update regarding Health Insurance Open Enrollment, which ends December 31.
If your health plan is set to auto-renew, please be cautious. Many marketplace plans for 2026 have seen significant premium increases, and auto-renewal does not guarantee the same pricing or benefits you had in prior years.
During the COVID era (2020–2024), many marketplace plans were significantly cheaper due to enhanced federal subsidies and temporary relief programs. Those programs have ended or are phasing out, and as a result, premiums are now spiking for many individuals and families.
Additionally, some clients may have already received insurance ID cards for the new year. Please keep in mind:
Receiving insurance cards does NOT mean your coverage is active
Coverage is not finalized until your first premium payment is made
Premium amounts may be higher than expected due to recent pricing changes
If you haven’t reviewed your plan or spoken with me yet, it is not too late — but time is limited. A quick review before the deadline can help you:
✔ Avoid being locked into a higher auto-renewed premium
✔ Explore available plan options before prices increase further
✔ Confirm your coverage is correct and active for January 1
✔ Prevent unexpected billing surprises
Before making your first payment or relying on an auto-renewed plan, I strongly recommend a review.
Please schedule a time with me before December 31.
I’m here to help make sure there are no surprises going into the new year.
Best regards,
Kris Priddy
