A lower MSRP doesn’t always mean a lower insurance premium. 🚘

Insurance companies look at the bigger picture when determining your rate. Comprehensive and Collision can be influenced by your vehicle’s actual cash value and potential repair costs, while Liability may be affected by factors like the vehicle’s size, weight, and safety features.

Who drives the vehicle, how it’s used, annual mileage, and other rating factors can also play a role.

The takeaway? MSRP is only one piece of the puzzle. Two vehicles with very different price tags can still have very different insurance costs.

We are saddened to learn of the passing of George Joseph, founder of Mercury Insurance, at the remarkable age of 104.

For those of us who have spent our careers in the independent insurance agency system, Mr. Joseph was much more than the founder of an insurance company. He was a pioneer who truly believed in the value of independent agents and the important role we play in serving our customers and communities.

Our family has been privileged to represent Mercury for many years, and we owe a great deal to the vision Mr. Joseph had when he built a company that respected and supported independent agents. His leadership created opportunities for generations of agents, employees, and their families—including ours.

Mr. Joseph once said that he hoped he would be remembered for his contribution to the insurance industry. There is no question that he will be.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to the Joseph family and the entire Mercury family.

Rest in peace, Mr. Joseph. Thank you for your vision, your leadership, and the extraordinary legacy you leave behind. 🙏
