As we wrap up another week here at Shearer Printing, we can’t help but stop and reflect. ❤️

This week brought some truly wonderful conversations at Coffee & Connections. We had the opportunity to sit down, slow down, and get to know some incredible people on a deeper level. Those conversations are a reminder of why connection means so much to us.

But this week has also been a difficult one for many in our community. After days of heavy rain and flood warnings, we know some of our customers, friends, and neighbors are dealing with flooding and uncertainty.

Please know this: we started our day praying for you.

At Shearer Printing, our customers have never been just an order, an invoice, or a name on a piece of paper. Over the years, you become family. We remember the stories you share with us. We ask about your kids, your businesses, your parents and the things happening in your lives. We celebrate with you when things are good, and our hearts are heavy with you when life gets difficult.

That kind of connection isn’t an extra for us, it’s the standard we’ve set for who we want to be.

With all of the rain, we know many of you are dealing with standing water and flooded roads. If you have to head out, please be careful!

A few reminders before you get behind the wheel:

🌧️ Slow down and give yourself more time to get where you’re going.
🚗 Leave extra space between you and the car in front of you. Wet roads can make it harder to stop quickly.
💧 Avoid driving through standing water. It can be deeper than it looks, and you may not be able to see damage to the road underneath.
↩️ If a road is flooded, turn around and find another route. Don’t try to guess whether your vehicle can make it through.
🛞 If you start to hydroplane, ease off the gas and avoid sudden braking or sharp turns.
🚧 Never drive around barricades or road-closed signs. They’re there for a reason.
📱 Put the phone down and give the road your full attention. Driving on wet roads is not the time for distractions.

Be careful out there, and stay safe!

It looks like we could have some rough weather moving through our area today. ⛈️

The biggest concerns are strong winds and possible hail, especially later this afternoon and evening. If you have a few minutes this morning, it’s a good time to get things around the house ready.

Bring in or secure patio furniture, umbrellas, trash cans, and anything else that could get picked up by strong winds. If you’re able to, consider parking your vehicles in a garage or under cover in case we see hail.

And, as always, keep an eye on the weather throughout the day and have alerts turned on so you know if conditions change.
