Additional Fraud Reports Today!

There are continued calls, spoofing our Galva office number of 309.932.8181 and our Kewanee Main Street office number 309.853.8181, going to CSB business customers. Fortunately, customers are recognizing these calls as scams and hanging up! One call was received in our Franklin office market area so it isn't just a Galva/Kewanee area concern.

Remain aware and always feel free to hang up and call your favorite CSB office directly with any concerns.

*****Fraud Alert!*******
A couple of businesses local to the Galva/Kewanee area called and reported that they received calls from someone identifying themself as Austin Schaeffer calling to talk to them about fraud on their CSB account. "Austin" also provided claim numbers and the call appeared to be coming from the Galva office phone number of 309.932.8181.

Fortunately, both businesses recognized the call as fraud right away and hung up on the caller. We are grateful that they also took the time to notify us so we can alert local residents to this particular fraudulent call that included a spoofed phone number coming up on caller ID.

Continue to exercise caution and we recommend you always hang up and call the bank directly to verify any requests. The security of your accounts and personal information is important to us. Trust your gut. Better safe than sorry!

Galva/Kewanee area residents have reported receiving calls from "Eric Larson at Community State Bank." The caller ID shows our Galva office number of 309.932.8181 and is labeled "Cmty State Bank" on the caller ID. The caller asks to discuss the recipient's account. Other local businesses have reported receiving similar calls with the caller providing a "case number." Fortunately everyone has been suspicious, refused to provide information, and when questioned, the caller hung up. This same scenario has been reported at two other area banks as well so be alert and do not give out personal information.

Feel free to always hang up and call your favorite CSB office or banker directly with any concerns.

Jacob Teegardin, Joe Robison, and Esther Herslow from our Knoxville and Galesburg offices attended the Galesburg Area Chamber of Commerce Evening of Excellence at The Hidden Hills Winery in Knoxville last night. There were several awards presented to local businesses and individuals and CSB was a Legacy sponsor for the event.
