We had the BEST Friday surprise! ❤️

Mrs. Perkins stopped by our office to visit a place that holds so many special memories—because before it was a State Farm office, it was her family home!

We absolutely loved hearing her share some of its history:

🏡 She and her husband purchased the lot in 1953 to build their family home!

🏡 As their family grew, they added two more rooms to the house and enclosed the back porch.

🏡 She laughed about one Thanksgiving when their big extended family gathered to eat and watch football. After that rowdy day, she decided it was time to take down the wall between the living room and den to make room for everyone!

🌳 She was so excited to see that one of the original trees they planted is still standing proudly in our “backyard.”

🏡 She even remembered bringing a new baby home from the hospital in Nashville and having to wait for the construction crew to let them through because they were turning Nashville Pike into a “real” road!

What an absolute pleasure and honor it was to meet Mrs. Perkins and hear these stories firsthand.

The history runs deep within these walls, and we love knowing that a place where one family made so many memories is now a place where we get to serve and protect families in our community.

My first job was with a State Farm Agent in the fall of 2008. It’s been 18 years, but I finally made the trip to our corporate headquarters in Bloomington this week!

We originally planned to recognize 3 amazing teachers with a $100 Amazon gift card each… but apparently our community had other plans! ❤️

After the votes were counted, we had a TIE, and there was no way we were going to make you choose again.
