Protecting yourself from check fraud doesn't have to be complicated. A few smart habits can make a big difference:

✔️ Set up account alerts to stay informed of activity on your accounts
✔️ Avoid leaving outgoing mail containing checks in unsecured mailboxes
✔️ Consider using ACH payments or other electronic payment methods when possible

Fraudsters often rely on creating confusion, urgency, or excitement to get people to act before they think. Watch for these common red flags:

⚠️ Pressure to act immediately or keep something secret
⚠️ Unexpected checks, especially from someone you don't know
⚠️ Requests to deposit a check and send part of the money elsewhere
⚠️ Suspicious account activity or charges you don't recognize
⚠️ Emails, texts, or phone calls asking for personal or banking information
