Many people who are on cancer treatment drugs, for example, Revlimid, Pomalyst, Imbruvica, Jakafi, and Ibrance, will benefit from Medicare Part D changes for 2024. The coinsurance in the catastrophic stage (after the Gap stage, sometimes called the "donut hole") will be eliminated. In 2023, for alll cancer treatments the annual out-of-pocket costs per drug range from over $11,000 to nearly $15,000. The elimination of the catastrophic stage coinsurance will save Medicare plan members thousands of dollars.

“The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) released the latest enrollment figures for Medicare on January 5th. [Updated monthly, and,] as of March 2023, 65,748,297 people are enrolled in Medicare, an increase of almost 100,000 since the last report in September. Of those, 31,799,519 are enrolled in Medicare Advantage or other health plans. This includes enrollment in Medicare Advantage plans with and without prescription drug coverage.”

Those who enrolled in Medicare Advantage plans represents nearly half of all Medicare beneficiaries. It pays to find an agent who offers these valuable types of Medicare options to help you decide what fits your needs.

The annual enrollment period for making changes is October 1st through December 7th. Don't call that 800 number. We're here for you.
