Farm-to-Market roads are how our food and fiber get from Texas farms to our homes and stores.

It’s a road system that was developed to help “get Texas farmers out of the mud.”

That was the campaign slogan in the fifties, to gain support for farm-to-market roads that connect Texas farms directly to highways and other cities.

Decades ago, those roads were built to do what their name implies—bring goods from the farm to market. And they still do that today.

If you travel them, you’ll likely meet a farmer or rancher driving large farm equipment or hauling trailers. When that happens, please be patient. Slow down and give them some space. They’re driving those roads to help bring food from the fields to our tables.

Do you know a teacher who works hard to bring agriculture to life in the classroom in fun and innovative ways? Nominate them for our Agriculture in the Classroom Outstanding Teacher Award!

Each year, we recognize one teacher for their efforts and reward them with a cash prize and an expense-paid trip to the National Agriculture in the Classroom Conference!

📣📣 LAST CALL to apply for our Clover Cash Grant program! We have $20,000 in grants available to county, district, and state 4-H programs to provide Texas 4-H members opportunities to learn more about agriculture and advocacy.

AgriLife Extension Agents, District 4-H Specialists, Texas 4-H staff or adult leaders of any county, district or state level 4-H program are eligible to apply.

Last week Cooke County Farm Bureau headed to Valley View ISD on two different occasions. Wednesday Carsen Read, our Texas Farm Bureau Youth Director, presented Ag in the Classroom. She went over youth opportunities and scholarships available to our Cooke County students.
Friday CCFB provided lunch for the faculty and staff. We appreciate the dedication and hard work and are grateful for all that you do for our students. Cooke County Farm Bureau hopes you have a great school year!
