Rates have just about doubled here in Florida over the last 5 years. The article is wrong about climate change being a cause as comprehensive coverage cost very little for most cars. The major increase has been for uninsured motorist and bodily injury liability coverage. Lawyers and litigation are a major factor there.

In the Western Atlantic an area of low pressure located a few hundred miles southeast of Bermuda is producing a small area of disorganized thunderstorm activity.

Dry air and strong upper-level winds in the area are expected to limit development. NHC gives this system only a 10% chance to become a tropical system over the next seven days - good news there.

In the Central Atlantic, an area of low pressure is trying to get its act together but currently doing so slowly. This trend should continue over the next several days.

However, environmental conditions appear generally favorable for slow development of the system this weekend. NHC gives this system a 20% chance to become a tropical system over the next seven days.
