WCFR Assists with School Bus Crash in Chester Gap
Chester Gap, VA — At approximately 9:18 AM, Warren County Fire and Rescue (WCFR) was requested to assist Rappahannock County with a motor vehicle crash involving a school bus at the intersection of Zachary Taylor Highway and Chester Gap Road.
Units from Chester Gap Volunteer Fire and Rescue (CGVFR) arrived on scene and reported a collision involving a pickup truck and a Warren County Public Schools bus. As a result of the crash, the bus left the roadway and came to rest partially down an embankment. The bus was occupied by eight students. As a precaution, all eight students, along with both drivers, were transported to a local hospital for evaluation. No life-threatening injuries were reported.
Personnel operated on the scene for approximately one hour before the incident was turned over to the appropriate agencies. The incident remains under investigation. For additional information, please contact Warren County Public Schools or the Virginia State Police.
