The 3rd Annual Ugly Sweater Golf Tourney is back. This year we chose Diligent Heart whose mission is to help 15 to 25 year olds in/out of care through ! They fill a huge void in young peoples lives once the benefits of the foster care system are exhausted. Kudos to this wonderful organization and a shout out to my partners at Kaiser Permanente Thrive Joanna Capriola and Ameritas Justin Bendler and of course my amazing company CaliforniaChoice for allowing us to give back to the beautiful city of . If you would like to participate please DM me. A foursome will cost $600 or $150/golfer. All the profits of the event will go to the charity. 100%! So get a team together and come hang out with us for the day and let's raise some money for this very new and very energized non-profit.

AB 1400 DIED!

AB 1400 did not have enough votes to pass off of the Assembly Floor so the author decided not to take it up for debate or a vote. Since today is the final day for bills introduced in 2021 to pass, the bill is DEAD!

AB 1400 would have mandated a government run single payer health care program and abolished private health insurance, Medi-Cal, Medicare, Covered California, and the valuable advocacy services of insurance professionals. While CAHIP agrees with the objective of affordable and inclusive health care, we strongly opposed the methods proposed in AB 1400.

Thank you CAHIP members for your outstanding legislative engagement! You collectively sent more than 4,000 communications to your legislators to OPPOSE AB 1400. Well done!

Single payer legislation may be reintroduced in some iteration by the legislature’s deadline to introduce new legislation: February 18th, 2022. CAHIP will be on the lookout for any related proposals but this measure is DEAD!
