Did you hear about the changes to California's insurance requirements?

Starting in 2025, California has set new minimum insurance requirements for its residents. Previously, the requirements were 15/30/5 (bodily injury per person, bodily injury per accident, property damage), but the new requirements are now 30/60/15.

How will these changes affect you? For starters, if you had the minimum coverage in 2024, you'll now have more coverage. However, your insurance premiums may have increased slightly due to the change.

I have previously talked about good driver discounts but there is another discount that many are unaware of which is the "good student discount". This discount varies based on your insurance company but our insurance agency offers a discount for students who has a GPA above 3.0. So for all students out there, make sure you ask your agent to see if they have this discount and if you are eligible. A little goes a long when it comes to saving!

With giant insurance companies pulling out of California, how will that change the landscape of homeowner insurance and how will it affect the average Joe?

With this said, it is very important to keep up with you current Property Insurance payment! This means paying on time and making sure the policy does not lapse. It is also a good idea to update your contact info whenever it changes, that way your insurance agent can contact you quickly when there is important information regarding your insurance!

Did you know that California is an at-fault state regarding auto accidents? This means that if you get into an auto accident, you may be liable for all the damages (injuries & property damage) of the other party if you are found to be at fault.
