From the Server Room to Closing Table: 14 Years in the Making...
They say to truly learn a business, you should start from the bottom. In 2009, I did just that. After working in a supermarket for 10 years—building deep customer service skills while managing and delegating, I entered the mortgage industry seeking a stable schedule for my family. What ended up finding was a passion for the engineering side of the mortgage process.
I spent my first seven years in the trenches of Post-Closing as a Shipper, delivering loans to investment banks to fund our warehouse lines. That role taught me that precision is the lifeblood of this business. From there, I transitioned into IT Development for six years, where I didn’t just fix computers—I implemented and maintained the systems that Compliance, Underwriting, and Operations rely on every day.
In 2023, after 14 years of growth, the company I was with decided to close its doors. Instead of walking away, I stayed on to help wind down the business. While I was building a coffin for one phase of my career, I was earning my license and preparing for a new one -- it was time to take a chance on myself and step into the role of Loan Officer.
That is exactly what I want my clients to feel: the courage to take a chance on themselves by buying a home. I’ve spent a decade in customer service and 14 years mastering the technical side of the mortgage industry; now, I’m here to be the expert who champions you across the finish line.
I’m your ride or die. - Lorenzo G.
