NJ Bail Reform - BREAKING NEWS and a CALL TO ACTION !

Can't Pay for NJ BAIL REFORM? JUST RAISE TAXES !!

Legislation to IGNORE the Property Tax Levy and RAISE YOUR PROPERTY TAXES was quietly introduced by Senator Stephen Sweeney and Senator Robert Singer on MONDAY.

BILL No. 2933 was introduced Monday and establishes a one-year property tax levy cap exclusion for bail reform costs.

As we have been reporting, Bail Reform could exceed 500 MILLION. 500 MILLION to promote and PAY for the Unaccountable and Reckless Release of thousands of offenders...back on the streets on a "pinky promise."

The NJAC (New Jersey Association of Counties) even has a pending formal complaint filed with the Counsel on Unfunded Mandates claiming that the law is an Unfunded Mandate.

Should the Counsel on Unfunded Mandates rule in favor of the counties, Bail Reform would be immediately struck down...NO MORE BAIL REFORM. NO MORE BLEEDING THE TAXPAYER.

Sweeney doesn't want this to happen. So what does he do? Introduce legislation to override the property tax cap so that YOU will have to pay for Bail Reform.

HELP US STOP THE BLEEDING OF THE TAXPAYER...STOP the Funding of Criminal Justice Reform by calling your legislator and DEMANDING they DO NOT PASS Bill 2933.

From the Governors page...

"A Hard Cap. Cap 2.0 is a hard cap that allows for continued, aggressive reform. With this hard cap, in any year, the property tax levy cannot increase more than 2 percent, with very limited exceptions."

"Letting the People Vote. Allowing for the people to decide their own fate and determine when increases in property taxes should exceed the cap is central to achieving meaningful reform. As such, the agreement gives citizens the ability to take back their state and have a much needed voice in their local communities."
