Geopolitical flare ups can rattle markets, but history shows their impact often fades fast. Even amid the current Middle East tensions and rising oil prices, today’s strong economic backdrop reinforces one message: stay focused on the long-term, not the headlines. We’re monitoring the latest developments and their potential implications for investors.

The U.S. and Israel launched joint strikes on Iran on February 28, prompting Iran to respond with counterattacks across multiple Middle Eastern cities. Iran is a meaningful oil producer, the fourth largest within OPEC, accounting for roughly 4% of global oil supplies, with about 80% of its exports g...

As the conflict in the Middle East moves beyond its first month, major U.S. equity indexes have come under pressure. While the duration and ultimate path of geopolitical tensions remain uncertain, history suggests that periods like these can often be short-lived and may provide opportunities.

As the conflict in the Middle East moves beyond its first month, major U.S. equity indexes have come under pressure. The Dow and Nasdaq have entered correction territory, while the S&P 500 has pulled back but has not yet crossed the 10% threshold. Investor attention remains focused on oil prices, as...

I'm thrilled that Edward Jones was just named the No. 1 firm in the JD Power 2026 U.S. Investor Satisfaction Study for Advised Investors, ranking first among 23 financial services firms.

This is a huge win for our firm because it reflects the importance we place on our relationships with you and all our clients, as well as the delivery of services that meet your your expectations.

I am thrilled that our Senior BOA Kathy Dotson was selected as one of a handful of Edward Jones associates to attend the 2026 Mosaic Series, with special guest Gary Sinise.

Gary Sinise is a celebrated actor best known for his iconic roles as Lt. Dan in “Forrest Gump” and Astronaut Ken Mattingly in “Apollo 13.” He is also a dedicated humanitarian whose work with military veterans began in the early 1980s and grew into a lifelong mission. He established the Gary Sinise Foundation – which supports service members, first responders, veterans, and their families – and has become one of the nation's most visible advocates for those who serve.

After Gary gave an address about leadership, Kathy Dotson was honored to be invited into a sit-down meeting with Gary Sinise and Edward Jones's managing partner Penny Pennington.

Pictured is Kathy with Gary Sinise and then Kathy with managing partner Penny Pennington (center, next to Kathy) and other Edward Jones associates.

I'm proud of the magnificent work that Kathy does to serve our clients. And I'm proud that my company provides opportunities such as this for our associates to learn from and be stretched by outstanding leaders from all walks of life.

Most times when you speak of a promising young person, you say things like, "He's got a very bright future."

But in Eli Slightom's case, he has an incredibly bright present!

Eli is a senior at Freeburg Community High School but he has already created a very successful business years ago. It's called "Eli's Lawn Service" where he serves dozens of clients with mowing and other work. After spending just 20 minutes with him, I lost count of how many times I told him, "You're killing it, man!"

That's why I'm thrilled that the teachers of FCHS voted Eli the Edward Jones Student of the Month for December.

When he's not in school or running his business, Eli is involved in FFA, industrial arts, and fills a key leadership role in the Silver Creek Area CEO group (a group of high school students who learn entrepreneurship and business skills from current business leaders). Eli also brightens the world by donating free lawn services for the elderly.

Eli is the son of Steve and Jackie Slightom and plans on attending a trade school after graduation to become a heavy equipment operator. He smiled slyly when he told me about his dream to become an operator: "I'm a guy and I like running big machines."

I have a strong feeling that machines won't be the only thing he'll run in the future.

Congratulations Eli! You're killing it!

I was thrilled to present Karcyn Ellis with the November Student of the Month award for Freeburg High School.

Karcyn is a senior who will eventually study to become a nurse but immediately after graduation wants to follow in her parents footsteps (Mark and Karin Ellis) and become an EMT.

She’s been actively involved in the FFA and the Family, Career and Community Leaders of America organization since her freshman year. She currently serves as the vice president for the FFA. She’s also involved in student council and the National Honor Society.

When she’s not in school, she works at Schnucks and loves to go four-wheeling and camping and traveling.

Freeburg High School has a wealth of outstanding students and we’re so pleased that the teachers at FHS nominated Karcyn for this outstanding award.
