It is always best to purchase your own renters policy! What is offered by most apartment complexes only covers about $100,000 in liability, NOT personal property. If your stuff is damaged during a covered event and you don't have property coverage, you will be out tens of thousands of dollars AND not have the "loss of use" coverage that pays to relocate you if your apartment or rental home becomes uninhabitable. Just another Tuesday drinking from my favorite coffee tumbler (courtesy of Kreation's by Kelsey Anne) and sniffing out savings like an insurance hound. My favorite of the day so far?

Me: I've tripled your liability, dropped your deductibles to $100, added in all the extras the company offers including minor violation forgiveness and it'll be $115 a month.

Them: I currently pay $220 with State Farm...
