Not great at remembering to take pictures… but I’m working on it 😅

Spent the day at the 2026 Annual State Conference with the Maryland Music Educators Association at the Baltimore Convention Center and it did not disappoint.

So many incredible conversations with passionate educators who pour into the next generation every single day. The energy, the heart, the impact… unmatched. Thank you for all that you do.

And a big thank you to Mike Harrison for inviting me 🫶🏻

There’s something powerful about getting ambitious women in the same room.

A few days ago, I attended the Women in Business event hosted by the Frederick County Chamber of Commerce at RAK Brewing Co. in Frederick, MD and the energy was unreal.

Real conversations. Real growth. Real support.

This is why I love what I do. Connecting with driven women who build strategy behind their vision.

If we connected there, let’s keep the conversation going. 💛

If you were sitting across from yourself at the end of last year… what’s the one thing you’d wish you had handled instead of avoided?

And a second question, while you’re here:

When this year ends, what do you want to be able to say you took responsibility for, even if it was uncomfortable?

Most Americans couldn’t cover a $1,000 emergency without stress or debt.

Read that again.

That’s not laziness.
That’s quiet fear no one talks about.

Most people assume their job will pay them if they become disabled.

The hard truth is, if they do, it’s 60% of your paycheck and that 60% is taxed. Now you are receiving 48% of your pay.

3 out of 4 disability claims are illness, not injury.

This isn’t the problem. Not having a plan, is.

Do you know the amount you will have to live off of in retirement?

Keep that sum in mind.

Will that amount be taxed? If so, how much is it now?

Is that sum increased for inflation? To make it easy, if you live off 100k now, at a 2.5% rate of inflation, you will need 250k in retirement to feel how 100k feels now.

With all of that considered, does the amount you receive feel enough?

These questions are what we help people with. You deserve to know how all these affect you.

How financially exposed are you?

Be honest. This takes less than a minute.

Answer YES or NO to each:

1. I know my exact monthly cash flow
2. I could survive 6+ months with no income
3. My investments follow a real strategy
4. I legally reduce my taxes every year
5. My income is protected if life happens
6. I have a retirement income plan (not just accounts)
7. My estate is documented and current

Now count your YES answers:

✅ 5–7 = Stable (but likely leaking opportunity)
⚠️ 3–4 = Vulnerable (risk is quietly growing)
🔥 0–2 = High Risk (one event could undo years)

Most people think they’re “doing fine”… until they actually check.

Here’s what real financial planners look for.

Professional planners look at 6 essential pillars:

1. Cash flow
2. Debt
3. Investments
4. Taxes
5. Insurance & risk
6. Retirement & long-term goals

Explaining this shows the difference between “guessing” and real planning.

Professional thinking.

If I were starting over financially…

I would have automated savings sooner, started life insurance when I was healthier, invested more aggressively and talked to a financial advisor regardless of my income.

Learn faster than me.

Money should work harder than you…

Money that grows autonomously (investments, automation, compounding) works 24/7.

The wealthy focus on systems that generate results without their labor, shifting from “earning” to “leveraging.”

Make money obey.

Outliving your money is the real risk.

The #1 retirement fear globally is outliving money.

Longevity risk is rising: a 65-year-old has a 50% chance of living to 85 and a 25% chance of living to 93, making planning essential.

Plan for long life.

If nothing changes, here’s your future…

A person who invests $500/mo at 8% for 30 years ends with $745,000.

If they wait 10 years to start, they only end with $279,000… a 63% loss caused by delay, not ability.
