Barton Insurance Group, LLC is seeking an enthusiastic, motivated, and organized sales professional to join our growing team. In this role, you will be expected to establish and maintain commercial accounts. Together with our staff of insurance experts you will work closely with potential clients to help them secure coverage and meet their unique needs.
Job summary
An insurance producer / agent is a licensed representative who is authorized to solicit, negotiate or sell insurance policies according to the needs and requirements of clients. Selling refers to exchanging of an insurance contract. As a prerequisite to selling or giving advice on insurance, one must be licensed to sell insurance products in the particular state that they do business in.
Summary of essential job functions
1. Set appointments with potential clients through a variety of marketing techniques.
2. Meet with prospective clients to review business risks and exposure to loss.
3. Work with agency staff to submit the risks and exposures to insurance companies, which then present a proposal with the insurance coverage they would provide and the cost.
4. Evaluate each insurance company’s proposal, and select the one that best meets the needs of the client or prospect.
5. Present the best proposal to the client or prospect, who then decides whether or not to accept the proposed coverages and to buy the insurance policy.
6. Provide ongoing service to the client during the policy year.
7. Perform insurance reviews with clients at renewal time or as desired by clients.
8. Other duties as assigned by manager
Qualifications
Barton Insurance Group, LLC sales producers must:
• Have a bachelor’s degree or equivalent job-related experience.
• Have or be willing to attain the proper licenses to sell property & casualty and life insurance in TN within 60 days of hire.
• Have experience using standard business applications, such as Microsoft Office.
• Demonstrate an entrepreneurial approach to growing business relationships.
• Have reliable transportation for making sales calls in designated territory
