To my friends in the trades:

When was the last time your insurance policy was actually reviewed? 🛠️

Many contractors set up a policy when they first start their business and then simply renew it year after year. Meanwhile, the business keeps evolving.

• New equipment gets purchased
• Jobs get larger
• Contracts require higher limits
• Tools start living in trucks, trailers, and job sites

If the policy isn’t reviewed periodically, it can easily fall out of alignment with the work you’re actually doing.

When I work with contractors, I make it a point to review coverage annually to confirm two things:

1️⃣ The policy still reflects the work the business is performing today
2️⃣ The coverage limits and pricing still make sense for the operation

Sometimes that simply means adjusting coverage with the current carrier. Other times it may make sense to explore other options. The goal is making sure the policy still fits the business as it grows.

Insurance should grow with the business it protects.
