Times of impact: 8:46 a.m. and 9:02 a.m.
Time the burning towers stood: 56 minutes and 102 minutes.
Time they took to fall: 12 seconds.
2819 dead from 115 different nations.
343 Fireman/paramedics, 23 NYPD, 37 Port Authority officers.

Please take a moment to remember those who perished on 9/11 along with those who have made the ultimate sacrifice in serving & protecting our country.

Thank you to each and every one of you who risked your life to help others on that day and to our military, NYPD & FDNY who continue to do so at this very moment. And to the men and women who are still battling the aftermath of this horrific day.

You are all our heroes!

Here's how to have a "fire-safe" holiday season:

- Place Christmas trees, candles and other holiday decorations at least 3 feet away from any heat sources

- If you purchase a real tree, make sure that it has fresh, green needles that aren’t easily broken. Keep live trees as moist as possible with plenty of water.

- Make sure that light strings are in good condition (do not use frayed or cracked wires)

- Avoid using real candles for your menorah – go flameless instead

- Do not overload electrical outlets

- Use only non-flammable decorations

- Have your chimney cleaned

- Unplug tree and holiday lights before leaving the house or going to bed

- Dispose your live tree and recycle – DO NOT light it on fire

- Designate one person to walk around the house to make sure all candles are properly extinguished

Most importantly, check your smoke detectors and always have an escape plan. In the event of an emergency, call 911 or your local fire department.
