Danny's Thoughts 5/19/16
I am pleased to announce the Grand Opening of US PLY’s new manufacturing complex located in Bridgeport, Texas. This state of the art facility is designed to manufacture both low-slope commercial roofing products, as well as, residential roofing underlayments.
I am excited about the opportunities our Bridgeport plant will offer U.S. PLY and our customers. Though our plant has relocated, U.S. PLY, INC’s corporate offices and main warehouse will remain in Fort Worth proper which provides our customers with easy access to US PLY products.
The spring weather of 2016 has proved to be quite severe. Both, commercial building owners and homeowners have felt the damaging effects of large hail and powerful tornadoes. With such widespread damage, I foresee the roofing industry to remain exceedingly busy for at least the next 2 years.
With the demand for roofing materials (both residentially and commercially) on the rise due to the storms, I believe there will be some shortages in certain raw materials and finish goods, but
I believe these shortages will effect primarily in the residential market. I don’t foresee any shortages or allocations that would prove to have a have a bearing on US PLY’s ability to provide quality products to our customers.
After the storms, I sent out our U.S. PLY inspectors to survey over 100+ existing U.S. PLY roofs in the areas most effected by the hail. Although most of the roofs sustained severe damage, I am pleased to report that only 2 roofs were leaking due to direct hail damage. This is a testament to the toughness a modified bitumen roof provides a building owner.
I want all our U.S. PLY customers to know that our new manufacturing facility allows us to producing more roofing material in less time than our old plant. As well, it allows us to provide our customers with brand new U.S. PLY products, such as, self-adhered SBS cap sheets & base sheets called TuffStik.
As always, I want to thank our loyal customers for their continued support of U.S. PLY, and we look forward to working with you as we dive head first into the roofing season.
