As the weather warms up, so does the number of door-to-door salespeople soliciting business in neighborhoods. While door-to-door sales are allowed, salespeople must follow strict guidelines.
- City ordinance requires salespeople to apply for and receive a city license in order to engage in door-to-door sales. They’re also required to display the license so that it is visible to residents while they’re going door-to-door.
- Door-to-door sales are prohibited before 9 a.m. and after dusk/sunset.
- Door-to-door salespeople are not allowed to ring doorbells/knock on doors where a “No Soliciting” sign is posted.
