This announcement has been 30 years in the making, and I’m SO excited! I accepted a promotion at The HealthGuys, where I have worked for ten years, to be the Head of Agent Training and Development. I’m returning to my professional roots of education!
Nearly 30 years ago I graduated with a bachelor (1995) followed by a masters degree in education (2000), in instructional technology. I worked as an educator, trainer, software development and technical writer for nine years before becoming a stay at home mom in 2004.
Thirteen years ago I started my career in sales with a well known MLM, Beachbody, and I became a group fitness instructor. After my divorce then years ago, these part-time jobs didn’t pay the bills as a single mom of three, so I looked for a job that allowed for work/family balance. I discovered the job of being a health insurance broker where I could work from home. I obtained my health and life license and secured a job at Health Reform Team (now Health Guys) in January 2015. I used my knowledge and experience from Beachbody to network and market my services on social media and worked my tail off to build my own little empire that allowed me the income I needed to support my family and be present in all the needs/functions of young children.
I stopped instructing group fitness classes in 2020 to focus full time on my career in health insurance. I became a manager in 2022 of remote agents and soon learned that few are as motivated as myself to generate their own leads and income, so that did pan out as hoped; however, all things work out for the best. Finally, last year, I reluctantly joined my peers in the office as a manager and proved many things to myself of how capable I am. I realized I was short changing my own by growth by staying home and my effectiveness to help others do the same.
Now, looking back, all of this set the stage for me to gain the experience and confidence for my new role. It takes time to fully develop the knowledge and skills in any industry, and I know many people give up before reaching their potential.
I’m incredibly honored to be recognized by the executives of Heakth Guys as THE best candidate for the job! I’m looking forward to helping develop new agents that will in turn help more people based on solid, ethical principles and work ethic that I have demonstrate to my clients. How cool is that?!
For me, the ultimate reward in life is to help others, and this new job provides me the opportunity to do that in a very big way! 💛
