🏌️‍♂️🚗 Golf carts & low-speed vehicles in Texas have rules—but insurance is what often closes the gaps.

Here’s the quick rundown:
😎 Texas defines a golf cart as a vehicle with 3+ wheels, made mainly for golf-course use, and a max speed of about 15–25 mph. No registration required for golf carts.
🏌️For certain allowed road uses (like crossing intersections or in some cities), the cart usually must have a slow-moving vehicle emblem and minimum liability insurance—plus required equipment (lights, mirrors, reflectors, parking brake, etc.).
🏌️‍♀️For LSVs/NEVs (about 20–25 mph / 20–35 mph), you typically need features like seat belts, headlights/tail lights, turn signals, mirrors, brake lights, and a 17-digit VIN.
⛳To title/register an LSV/NEV, you must show proof of minimum liability insurance (along with ownership paperwork and form 130-U).
➡️Bottom line: Even if your cart doesn’t always need to be registered, it may need insurance to legally drive in certain places—and to protect you financially.
