Great time last night! Matt and Kyle helped cook 180 lbs of crawfish, 50 lbs of sausage plus potatoes and corn for Aledo YoungLife’s annual crawfish boil. Aledo YoungLife had approximately 150 high school kids in attendance. We assisted a great group of local men in cooking. Kyle Luiken (second from left) Matt Poston (second from right)

When we say that giving back to our community is central to our core beliefs, we mean it. Our team member, Bethany, was just recognized by The Warm Place as having volunteered 311 hours of her time in 2025. We are incredibly proud of her dedication to helping children heal following the death of a family member. Please join me in congratulating Bethany on her amazing dedication to helping others!

Friday was a very special day. My team member Bethany graduated Tarleton State University with a BA in Psychology. Bethany worked hard to earn her degree and paid for it herself. She is the first member of her family to earn a college degree and I’m so proud of her. I was honored to be invited to be her guest. She will begin her Masters program in the fall. Please stop by the office and give her a High 5; she deserves it!!!

“It’s non-stop all day long,” said Lynn Self, program manager for the Tarrant County Courtesy Patrol. Crews spent Wednesday loading trucks with deicer and gear to help stranded drivers over the next 48 hours. He said his crew is proud of the work they do and people are usually happy to see them arrive.

The roadside is clear now but crews expect accumulation over the next two days

Finding ways to give back to our communities is important to us. Yesterday we were able to deliver needed supplies to The Warm Place. The Warm Place provides a safe and compassionate place for families and children who have experienced the loss of a loved one. Our team member, Bethany Skinner, volunteers at The Warm Place weekly.

Dawn and I had a fantastic time volunteering with Miracle League of Parker County this morning. Miracle League gives young people of differing abilities an opportunity to play organized baseball in an environment suited to their needs. Volunteers serve as on field “buddies” for each player both in the field and while hitting. So much joy on that field!!
