National Teen Driver Safety Week starts Sunday (Oct 18–24), so here's a quick heads-up for Fort Worth parents with new drivers:
Three Texas rules that catch most families off guard — the Impact Texas Teen Drivers course must be completed within 90 days before the driving test (don't let the certificate expire), a provisional license means one passenger under 21 who isn't family (one friend, not a carload), and provisional-license drivers under 18 can't drive midnight to 5 a.m. except for work, school activities, or emergencies. No cell phone use behind the wheel either — hands-free included. Honestly, that last one's a good rule for the rest of us too.
Parents — what's the hardest driving rule to get your teen to actually follow?
