What I learned from Cold Calling…
When I was first starting out, to “feel” like I had a real business, I wanted an office.
I lived in a 500 sq foot apartment that I shared with a roommate and had no space to work.
I made a deal with a friend that had a small stock brokerage company.
They gave me a tiny office and in exchange I agreed to stay after hours and make cold calls for them from 6pm-midnight.
Everyday they’d give me a list of thousands of names and numbers and I’d call and try and “qualify” people as leads. I HATED IT.
5 REASONS TO KEEP GOING...
1) Everyone with a big goal goes through the doubt, rejection and grind. BUT after 500X you may get that one win that gives you BELIEF and HOPE. And if you have that HOPE. You have EVERYTHING. Don’t lost hope.
2) You never know if the next call you make will be a “sale” or opens up the door. Early on in the journey especially... leave no rock unturned.
3) Keep moving forward. If you keep chipping away good things happen. Plus, you figure out what’s works and more importantly what doesn’t work.
4) Stay in the game. If you’re in the game luck can find you. If you quit...it’s over.
5) Never tell yourself you’re not good at sales. NEVER. Everyone has an element of sales in them and can craft the right pitch for their authentic personality.
