Andrews Federal was proud to sponsor this weekend's Negro League Legends Hall of Fame East/West Vintage Baseball Game.

Through sponsorships, this celebration of Black History was free to the community and provided attendees with an opportunity to enjoy an afternoon of vintage baseball and a classic car show, and to reflect positively on the history and the impact of the Negro League on American baseball history.

Local leaders were present to honor the history of the game, including Mayor Akiaba Stewart of Fairmount Heights. Mr. Sims, founder of the Negro League Legends Hall of Fame, was also honored with a citation from the Lt. Governor Aruna Miller for his work in keeping Negro League history alive and telling the League’s stories.

It was an honor for our Andrews Federal team to play a role in bringing this event to our community.

Andrews Federal recently provided a $25,000 grant to Code of Support Foundation, an Alexandria, Virginia-based public charity that provides essential, one-on-one assistance to service members, veterans, caregivers, and military families facing complex needs.
Code of Support Foundation helps military-connected households navigate support systems and access the benefits, services, and resources they have earned.

With support from Andrews Federal, Code of Support Foundation will be able to finalize funding needed to add a case coordination position and increase its capacity for serving military families. We are honored to play a role in ensuring our service members, veterans, and families are able to access their much-deserved benefits.

Andrews Federal was honored to provide a grant to the National Defense University Foundation Inc.

This grant will support NDU alumni in continuing education, as they attend the Alumni Continuing Education Security Seminar, and continue to strengthen the security of our nation.

Andrews Federal made the back to school season less stressful for many families by proudly partnering with Prince George’s County District 8 Council Member Edward Burroughs III for a Back to School Gathering.

District 8 residents were invited out to receive school supplies, uniform kits, haircuts and styles, and more. During the event, Andrews Federal volunteers distributed more than 800 uniform kits [650 provided at the event & 150 donated to local schools] that contained unisex khaki pants, polos for boys and girls, socks, and undergarments, addressing essential needs for families throughout the community.

We are proud of the impact our team made, and happy to help students and families start the school year with confidence.

Andrews Federal recently participated in the 12th Annual Women to Women Regional Summit hosted by the Calvert County Chamber of Commerce's Women to Women Committee.

The event is designed to support Southern Maryland business women as they
network, share knowledge, and foster personal and professional growth. The event honored the strength of the women who paved the way while also embracing fresh perspectives that shape the future.

We are honored that our Andrews Federal team was able to share and collaborate with other women in the region so we can all grow stronger together.

Andrews Federal is proud to congratulate Colonel L. Dail Turner, USAF (Ret.), former Board Chair and Vice Chair and current Director Emeritus, on his induction into the prestigious Defense Credit Union Council (DCUC) Hall of Honor.

Col. Turner began his association with Andrews Federal in 1972, when he joined the credit union after completing Air Force pilot training and reporting to the 1st Composite Wing at Andrews Air Force Base. His membership later evolved into board service and a lifelong commitment to both our credit union and the military members we have the privilege to support.

His induction into the DCUC Hall of Honor reflects not only his exceptional leadership and service to Andrews Federal Credit Union, but also his enduring impact on the broader credit union movement. Through his dedication, integrity, and passion for helping others, Colonel Turner has inspired generations of leaders and strengthened the financial well-being of countless members.

Congratulations, Col. Turner, on this well-deserved honor, and we are so appreciative of the knowledge and wisdom you have provided our credit union throughout your decades of volunteer service.
