Do you know how to survive a rip current?
This drone shot gives a great view and helps visualize why you need to swim PARALLEL to the beach until you are out of the current.
You won’t be able to fight through that - you need to go past it and then turn to shore.
Los Angeles County Fire Department, Lifeguard Division will be kept busy all summer with the rising temps and crowded beaches - help them keep you safe by swimming near open towers and never swimming alone.
Check in with the nearest lifeguard for ocean conditions and swim within your abilities.
